WOW! This was quite unexpected. A personal best showing in the RTTY Roundup!

I had planned a full-time effort in this contest. My previous best had been
65,500 points and nearly 700 Qs. But, that effort was Single-Op HIGH power. My
best low power effort had been about 33,000 points. My goal was about 50,000
points and 500 Qs.

I had to attend a martial arts class early Saturday, so I missed the first hour
of the contest, but started promptly at 1900z. I continued until 0700z, taking
only short breaks. Conditions seemed modestly good -- 10m showed signs of
activity, 15m was modestly short in the mid-afternoon.

The first session was very productive - I ended up with 507 Qs 53 states
(missing MS and ME US states) and 14 countries. My previous best had been 55
states and 40 countries. The second session, I would need to focus on finding
some multipliers. Lots of good runs, especially on 40m. 80m was a little tough,
as the shunt-fed tower really lacks some punch.

I over-slept the next morning, but I was on the air by 1245z. I quickly ran
through 80 and 40m, but 20m wasn't quite open, so I took a shower and got back
to it. 20m definitely opened strong, and 15m was close behind it. 15m was thick
with Europeans, and the opening lasted until at least 1730z. 10m opened later,
mostly to South America.

While I managed to pick up a few multipliers (MS, SK and 23 countries), I never
managed to contact ME, although I did hear one calling CQ on 15m, but he
disappeared.

Last few hours were a real push, with rates of 55, 50 and 50 Qs.

Made a couple of 5-band contacts: P49X was everywhere, the other was K6SU.

Thanks for all the Qs, everyone! I don't believe I have ever made 900 Qs in one
weekend.
