Hello all:
Ben, WB2RHM, is going to register SECC teams for the NAQP RTTY contest
on Saturday week, July 18. Remember this contest runs from 2 PM to 2 AM
EDT with a maximum of 10 hours for single ops. Power is limited to 100W
and there is also recognition for QRP scores. The exchange is just Name
plus State, Province, NA country, or "DX." Mults are states, provinces,
and NA countries and are counted once per band. Therefore you may be
asked to QSY to other bands or you may want to try to move a multiplier
who calls you to another band where you don't have that multiplier. The
contest is on 80 through 10M RTTY. Activity usually starts on the
highest band open and moves down to the low bands after dark. You may
find some daytime activity on 40M and you can probably find activity on
20M for most of the contest period.
Teams are of from two to five members. You do not need to be a member
of a particular club or live in a specific geographic area to be on a
team. There will be a listing of the teams and their members in the
results. The more teams there are, the more stations are likely to be
QRV, and the more fun for all.
So, this is an invitation. Please let Ben, WB2RHM, know if you can be
QRV and would like to be on an SECC team. Let him know approximately
how much you can operate and whether you will be low power (100W or
less) or QRP (5W or less).
Thanks and 73,
John, K4BAI.
