FT1000MP, Alpha 91b, 1 KW, TH6DXX, dipole, inverted vee. My MP is just back
from WA4GEG's repair shop and many thanks to Byron. It is working like
new. I
am delighted to use it instead of the IC756Pro, which seems to have a
problem
common with that type of radio, poor AGC function. It will continue to
be the
6M and mobile rig. Next week the MP #2 goes to WA4GEG for repair. I
started
on 80M about 10 minutes before 1300Z to make some noise to encourage
others to
start on 80M and to check for any possible RFI problems. There were not RFI
problems. I had a nice chat with K9RQ in FL who said he would take a
look at
the CWOps club home page on the internet and stayed for my only 80M QSO.
40M
seemed quite good to most of the USA, although west coast stations seemed
weaker than they have been lately. 20M was good to most of the US,
Caribbean,
and poor to fair to Europe. Rate dropped toward the end, but 15M seemed
dead
here, so stayed on 20. DX worked: FG8NY, UR5MM, OH2BN, F6HKA, F5IN. Two
non-members who stood out were K1SM and K9WX. Thanks for all QSOs. Hope to
see many of you in Dayton beginning tomorrow. Look for me at the CWOps
booth
with NW0M from 10 to 11 Friday and Saturday. Pray for safe travels to all.
73, John, K4BAI.
