This Week's Contests:

1. CWOps Club Mini Tests. Wednesday local date. Three one hour
contests. 13Z, 19Z, 03Z (Thursday UTC date). 160-10M CW. Exchange:
Name + CWOps# or SPC. Look around 028 kHz.

2. QRP Foxtravaganza. 0200-0330Z Friday (Thursday night local). Work
foxes and hounds to celebrate the end of the 20M QRP Summer Fox Hunt Season.
14050-14070 kHz. 5W maximum power. Exchange: RST, SPC, Name, Power.

3. NCCC RTTY Sprint Ladder. 0130-0159Z Friday (Thursday night local).
20, 40, 80M RTTY. 100W maximum power. One kHz QSY rule. Exchange:
both calls, #, name, SPC. Look around 080 kHz.

4. NCCC CW Sprint Practice. 0230-0259Z Friday (Thursday night local).
15, 20, 40. 80M CW. 100W maximum power. One kHz QSY rule. Exchange:
both calls, #, name, SPC. Look around 040 kHz. For this week only, 5W
maximum power.

5. CQ World Wide DX Contest RTTY. 80-10M RTTY. 48 hours of the weekend
UTC. Exchange: RST + CQ Zone + state or Canadian area or just RST +
zone for DX stations.

6. TX QSO Party. 1400Z Sat to 0200Z Sun; 1400Z to 2000Z Sun. All bands
except WARC and all modes. Exchange: RS(T) + SPC or TX county. Bonus
points for working each TX mobile station 5 times, 10 times, 15 times,
etc. They are promising activity from all 257 TX counties, which will
be an accomplishment. There is usually a lot of activity in this one.

6. Peanut Power QRP Sprint. Sponsored by the North GA QRP Club. A new
QRP Sprint. Sunday 2000 to 2200Z. 15, 20, 40M bands. Work only those
with peanut numbers. Get a peanut number from w4qo at arparci.org. CW
and/or SSB. You can participate even if you can't run QRP. Recommended
frequencies: "up from 7060, 14060, 21060 CW and 7285, 14285, 21285
SSB. Note that this is an unusual frequency on 40M. Try there first,
but if no activity might be good to check 7030 and 7040, where the usual
QRP CW activity is on 40. SPC mults count per band for sure and
probably also per mode and per band. Perhaps W4QO can clarify that rule
for us. (If the RTTY DX contest makes any of the suggested CW
frequencies unusable, just move down the band until you find a clear spot.)

Hope everyone has a good weekend and a lot of QSOs. 73, John, K4BAI.
