Hello all: If any of you is close enough and wants to visit or join in
the Columbus Amateur Radio Club (GA - W4CVY) and Russell County Radio
Club (AL - WX4RUS) Field Day site, do a computer search for W4CVY and
you will find all information and an aerial map to the location. It is
off US 80 east of Columbus. You would turn south on Garrett Road and it
would be the first thing on the left at Lake Pines RV Park and Campground.

We will be putting up antennas beginning at 4 PM Thursday and 2 PM
Friday and will do station set up on Saturday morning. We are planning
for 2 CW stations, 2 SSB stations, one digital station, plus VHF/UHF,
GOTA and Satellite stations. All calls except for GOTA will be W4CVY
and the GOTA station will use W4CHS, the club call for the Columbus High
School Amateur Radio Club. We expect to be in class 5A. Be sure to sign
in while you are there so we will have a record of your being there and
can determine how many visitors we had.

If you can't join us, look for us on most bands and modes and give us a
QSO.

The GOTA (Get on the Air) station will be captained by Jerry, AJ1F, and
it is particularly for interested non-hams, new hams, and those who have
been inactive for a long time.

For those of you who have your own Field Day activities, good luck,
complete safety, much fun and fellowship, and many QSOs.

Feel free to e-mail me with any questions and I'll try to answer them.

73, John, K4BAI.

For the CW stations, we will have, we hope, computer keying of CW,
electronic keyers, and a hand key. Bring your own bug or favorite key
or paddle and bring your own headset if possible. We will have
splitters so more than one person can listen at a time.

Operation will be in an air conditioned building for our comfort and
safety. Weather forecast looks good for the weekend. The time of
actual operation should be 2 PM Saturday to 2 PM Sunday.
