Hope everyone is getting ready for the big Georgia QSO Party on April 14
and 15. This will be the 51st GQP year since the first one was started
by W6OAT and the Columbus Amateur Radio Club in 1962. All information
can be found at: http://georgiaqsoparty.org/ Georgia has the second
largest number of counties (and therefore multipliers) in the country,
second only to TX. GA has 159 counties and many of them are small
allowing mobiles and rovers to rapidly move between counties. The
contest will be 1800Z Saturday April 14 until 0359Z Sunday April 15 and
again 1400 to 2359Z on Sunday, a total of 20 hours. Many mobiles and
rovers have already announced plans and a map and activity plans can be
found on the website. The contest covers 160 to 6 M, CW, Phone, and
Mixed. Awards are available for QRP, low power, and high power
participants.
Please join us in the fun on the weekend of April 14 and 15. Then send
in your logs as specified in the rules.
73,
John, K4BAI
For the sponsors, SECC and SEDXC.
