This Week's Contests:
1. CWOps Club CWT Mini Tests. 1900Z today (Wed) and 0300Z, Thursday
(Wednesday night local). One hour each separate test. 160-10M CW.
Exchange: Name + CWOps# or SPC. Look around 1815 kHz and 028 kHz on
the other bands.
2. 40M QRP Fox Hunt. Thursday night local, 0200-0330Z Friday. 7030 to
7050 kHz. Work only the two Foxes using a maximum of 5W power.
Exchange: RST, SPC, Name, Power.
3. NCCC NS Ladder. 0230-0259Z Friday (Thursday night local). 20, 40,
80, 160M CW. 100W maximum power. One kHz QSY rule. Exchange: both
calls, #, name, SPC. I assume there will be a low speed SNS practice
also Thursday night local, 0200-0220Z Friday. Same rules except no 160M
and keep speeds 18 to 26 WPM. Try 1815Z and around 040 on the other bands.
4. World Wide Peace Messenger Cities Contest. 12Z Sat to 12Z Sun.
80-10M CW, SSB. Exchanges for PMC stations: RS(T) + PMC Abbreviation.
For others: RS(T) + CQ Zone. I was surprised at a good bit of
activity in this one last year.
5. Michigan QRP Club January CW Contest. 12Z Sat to 2359Z Sun. 160-6M
CW. Exchange: RST + SPC + MiQRP# or power.
6. UK DX Contest, RTTY. 12Z Sat to 12Z Sun. 80-10M RTTY. Exchange:
RST + UK area code or QSO#.
7. NCJ North American QSO Party. 18Z Sat to 06Z Sun. Maximum of 10
hours for single ops. 160-10M CW. Exchange: Name + SPC for North
America and just Name for non-NA stations. (If your logging program
insists on some QTH, use "DX.") Team competition. There is still time
to join a team. For ACG, contact WA1FCN. For SECC, contact K4BAI. I
have for SECC teams so far: K4BAI, KU8E, N4PN, W4SVO, W4AU, K4FXN,
NA4BW, W5JR, AA4GA, AE4Y, K2SX, W4MJA, K4OGG, NM2L, KB4KBS.
Also, let us know about teams for NAQP SSB the next weekend. So far,
for SECC, I have: N4PN, N4XL, W4SVO, N4VDL. WW4LL will be QRV M/2 on SSB.
8. Flying Pigs QRP Club January Run for the Bacon. 0200-0400Z Monday
(Sunday night local). 160-10M CW. 5W maximum power. Exchange: RST,
SPC, FP# or power. Look around 060 on 80, 20, 15, and 10, 1815 on 160,
and 7030, 7044, and 7104 on 40M. Haven't heard any activity on 7104 kHz
in this one yet.
9. QRP 80M Fox Hunt. Tuesday night local. Same rules as for 40M on
Thursdays except the frequency range is 3550-3570 kHz.
