This Week's Contests:
1. CW Ops Mini Test (CWT). Today local (Thursday UTC 1900 and 1959;
0300-0359Z). 80, 40, 20M. Exchange: Name + CW Ops # and for
non-members Name + State. Two separate one-hour contests.
2. Thursday night QRP Fox Hunt. 7030-7050 kHz. 5W maximum power.
0200-0330Z Friday. Work only the two foxes. Exchange: RST + SPC +
Name + Power.
3. NCCC NS Ladder. 0230-0259Z. 20, 40, 80, 160M. 100W maximum power.
One kHz QSY rule. Exchange: #, Name, SPC. No same band dupes.
Frequencies around 040 kHz on each band plus around 1815 kHz. Good
practice for NA Sprint CW Contests. There is also an informal slow
speed version 0200-0225Z+. Keep speed under 16 WPM for first ten
minutes and under 26 WPM for remainder. 160M is not included in the
SNS, just 20, 40, and 80.
4. ARRL Ten Meter Contest. 10M CW/Phone. 48 hours of weekend UTC.
Exchange: RST + State/Province or serial # for DX or ITU Zone for MM
stations. Remember that XE states have been added as multipliers this
year. Abbreviations for those states are in the rules. Club aggregate
score competition.
5. MDXA PSK Death Match. 48 hours of weekend UTC. 160-6M PSK31 and
PSK63. Exchange: Name + State or Country.
6. Straight Key Century Club Week End Sprint (WES). 24 hours of Sunday
UTC. 160-6M CW. Use mechanical key only. Exchange: RST + SPC + SKCC#
or power.
7. Colorado QRP Club Colorado Snowshoe Run. 21-2259Z Sunday. 20 M CW.
5W maximum power. Exchange: RST + SPC + Ant Class + CQC# or power.
Duplicates OK after 30 minutes, so three possible QSOs with same
station. Ant Classes: W (wire), V (vertical), B (beam), P (portable).
8. 80M QRP Fox Hunt. Same as Thursday night hunts on 40M except
frequency range is 3550-3570 and on Tuesday nights.
9. North American QRP CW Club Straight Key/ Bug Sprint. 0130-0330Z
Tuesday. 20, 40, 80M CW, 5W maximum. Exchange: RST + SPC + NAQCC# or
power. Double your score by using a straight key. 1 1/2 times your
score if you use a bug.
Hope everyone has a nice week and weekend. TCG got out a fine written
report and certificates for their Sept QSO Party. They are announcing a
new club aggregate score competition for next year. No circle or other
limitation except that all scores must be submitted either for
operations within or outside the state of TN. If some are in and some
are out, two different scores can be claimed, one for each geographical
area.
The 10M contest should be a lot of fun this weekend. Some sort of
propagation should be available for most of the contest period.
73, John, K4BAI.
