Comments:
I knew during SNS when W7OM was barely above the noise here that 40M would be
bad. But, I was able to work W0BH with good signals on 20M, so I was hopeful
for a few mults there. When the clock struck 02:30, I called W0BH and got beat
out by W4NZ. Then the logging computer crashed. That resulted in the rig being
keyed, so I turned the power down. Got the computer back up, but forgot to run
the power back up. Missed W0BH, N9NB, and N6RO, all of whom were good copy on
20. Figured out the power problem when went to 40 and worked everyone I heard
there except a few weak stations from TN. But signals were generally weak
except for W1, W2, W3, W5, and W9 areas. 80 was quite good except for no
signals from west of SD and KS to TX. The close in stations were generally
strong and I won a lot of jump balls that I often don't. Changed the 80M
antenna to 160 to get more mults and was able to work most of the stations I
heard on top band. Thanks for the QSOs. I may have to replace the logging
laptop if it continues to act up. Hope to work most of you in ARRL 10M contest
this weekend, which will be a part-time effort here due to many other
commitments. 73, John, K4BAI.
