Hello ham friends:
For those of you who can operate during the day tomorrow, Veteran's Day
in the United States, approximately 9 AM to 5 PM EST (1400 to 2200 UTC),
the Columbus Amateur Radio Club will be QRV as N4I saluting all veterans
of the military forces of the United States from the National Infantry
Museum and Soldier Center, Columbus, GA (Fort Benning, GA). Suggested
frequencies are 7045, 14045, and 21045 on CW and 7225, 14250, and 21300
on SSB. We expect to have two stations operating simultaneously,
probably one on CW and one on SSB. Information is contained on the ARRL
Special Event Station Page and at www.w4cvy.org.
A special QSL card is available for a SASE business sized envelope or a
certificate can be obtained for $1.00 to cover the certificate,
envelope, and postage. The address is CARC, PO Box 6336, Columbus, GA
31917-6336.
K4BAI will be operating on and off for most of the day, mostly on CW.
Please give us a call and help us salute our Veterans, of which I am
one. I was in the U.S. Army June 1964 until June 1970 and during the
time May 1968 until June 1969, I was QRV from Korea as HL9KQ and
operated the CQ WW DX Contests in 1968 from the multi-single station
HL9US.
And when you are in the vicinity, plan a visit to the fabulous new
Infantry Museum and Soldier Center (and Imax Theatre).
73, John, K4BAI.
