The SECC Club Call, W4AN, will be used this weekend by members K4BAI and
KU8E in the CQ World Wide VHF Contest on six and two meters as W4AN/R
(for Rover). This should be on SSB and CW. The station will be located
in a KU8E vehicle. Mobile and/or portable antennas will be used from
grid squares in FL and possibly AL and/or GA. The VHF contest runs from
1800 UTC Saturday until 2100 UTC on Sunday (2 PM EDT Sat until 5 PM EDT
Sunday). A Rover is a different station from each grid square, so
everyone may work us again in each grid square. Contacts are counted
without regard to mode, so a QSO on either CW or SSB will suffice.
During times when QSOs cannot be made on VHF, we may be QRV on HF as
K4BAI/M or KU8E/M, but our hope is that we will have good openings on
VHF and we can spend most of our time there.
Please give us a call if you hear us. Also, please get on and work
everyone else you can in the contest and submit your logs to the sponsor.
The club has QSL cards made up for W4AN with a blank for insertion of
the Grid Square, so QSLs may be sent via K4BAI.
73, John, K4BAI.
