This week's contests:

1. 40M QRP Fox Hunt. Thursday local, Friday 0200-0330 UTC. 7030-7050
kHz. Two Foxes: K4BAI, John in GA. NK6A, Don in CA. Work only the
two foxes. Exchange: RST, SPC, Name, Power. Run 5W or less.

2. NCCC NA Sprint Practice. Regular NS rules. 0230-0259Z Friday
(Thurs local). 160-40M CW. Exchange: both calls, #, name, SPC. 100W
max power. Dupes OK after band change or one intervening QSO. I'll
have to be a QRP Fox this week during the NS, so hope someone else can
give out GA mults. Look around 7040, 3540, and 1815 kHz.

3. SNS Slow Speed NA Sprint Practice. Same as NS above except only 40
and 80M and maximum speed is 22 WPM. 0200-0215Z Friday (Thursday local).

4. North American QRP CW Club January Straight Key/Bug Sprint.
Wedndsday night local (tonight!), 0130-0330Z Thursday. 80, 40, 20M CW.
5W maximum power. Exchange: RST, SPC, Power. Multiply score by 2
for straight key and by 1 1/2 for bug. I will have to miss most or all
of this tonight, so hope someone else can give out the GA mult. You can
use a keyer or computer keying if you don't want the extra points.

5. North American QRP CW Club Annual 160M Straight Key/Bug Sprint.
0130-0330Z Friday (Thursday local). Same as previous entry, but only
160M CW. (Look around 1815 kHz.) This is a good chance to check out
everything prior to CQ 160 CW starting Friday afternoon. Then QSY to 40
and look for the foxes.

6. CQ 160 Meter CW Contest. 22Z Friday to 22Z Sunday. Note that it
starts and stops two hours earlier than it has for the past several
years. Single op max is 30 hours; multi op maximum is 40 hours (note
change this year). Exchange: RST + SPC. 160M conditions have been
fantastic lately. Give it a try. If you don't have a 160M antenna, tie
the sides of your 80M wire feedline together and feed the antenna
through an antenna tuner as if it were a random length wire. (Or just
use the center connector of your 80M wire the same way.) You can make
contacts that way.

7. YL-ISSB QSO Party, SSB. 48 hours of Sat and Sunday UTC. 160-10M
SSB. Exchange: RS + Name + SPC + YLISSB# if you have one.

8. REF (France) CW Contest. 06Z Sat to 18Z Sun. 80-10M CW. Exchange:
RST + Serial # or French Dept # or prefix for French overseas areas.

9. BARTG RTTY Sprint. 12Z Sat to 12Z Sun. 80-10M RTTY. Exchange:
Serial #.

10. UBA (Belgian) DX Contest, SSB. 13Z Sat to 13Z Sun. 80-10M SSB.
Exchange: RS + Serial # (+ Belgian Province abbreviation).

11. SPAR Winter Field Day. 17Z Sat to 17Z Sun. Any bands except WARC
and 60M and all modes. Exchange: RS(T) + Category + temperature and
"F" or "C." Category for single op at home station is "1H."

12. 80M QRP Fox Hunt. Tuesday night local, 0200-0330Z Wednesday.
3550-3570. Two Foxes will be QRV and work only the two foxes. 5W
output maximum. Exchange: RST + SPC + Name + Power.

Hope everyone has fun and a lot of QSOs. 73, John, K4BAI.
