W5KDJ, Wayne, and I will be your 80M foxes this Tuesday, October 30,
0100-0229 UTC Wednesday, 9 to 10:29 PM EDT Tuesday. I will be somewhere
between 3550 and 3570 calling CQ FOX. I will be using my FT1000MP at 5
watts measured on a FT-2 QRP wattmeter to an 80M inverted vee with the
apex at 35 feet. My QTH is Columbus, GA. I may have a second antenna
to alternate with if I can get the 88' center fed zepp to tune through
an antenna tuner. The zepp favors the north and north east and the
dipole favors the west and northwest, but is OK to the other directions
too. Hope many of you will run your rigs at 5 watts or less and give me
and Wayne a call. The exchange is: RST, SPC, Name, Power out W. Such
as 579, GA, John, 5W. I generally give "real" reports and will not give
the same RST to every caller. I will start out split, usually listening
up about 1 khz. When the crowd dies down a lot, I will listen on my own
transmit frequency. I may have to move around a bit as nets start up or
other high power activities interfere. The 40M Fox Hunts start
Thursday, November 1, same time and exchange, frequencies 7030 to 7050.
