Sorry, but I disagree with this 'direction'.
Yes, this is somewhat of a 'public forum', supposedly limited to SECC
members. However the election is public, therefore, in my opinion everyone
who is running in the election, should be able to inhale all opinions, both
the good and the not so good. Obviously we are going to only hear the 'good'
side from the candidate, so other opinions should be helpful to us all. If a
candidate cannot handle 'negative press', then they perhaps would not be the
type person we would want to represent us as a Director.
I too, am inclined to vote for W4STB, primarily because she is the only one
who is actively campaigning for election. However, if you
'read-between-the-lines' of some of her FAQ answers, there is a lot of
evasive answers. She also seems to be promoting 'keeping CW out of the
digital bands', etc., which of course I don't care for. It kinda insinuates
that she already has jumped on the ARRL bandwagon of 'digital' is the cure
for everything. Band plans, as such, are non-enforceable suggestions from
the ARRL...nothing more. What I would like to see is a candidate who would
strongly state that they fully intend to communicate with all of the hams in
this division, unlike our previous Director!
W4STB is still at the top of my list.
