This week's contests:
1. NCCC NS Ladder, NA Sprint Practice Format, Starts this Thursday.
0230-0300 UTC Friday. Exchange: both calls, QSO #, First Callsign
(like KN4BAI), SPC. Note the WA7BNM Calendar is wrong is that it shows
Name rather than First Callsign. Apparently, it may change back to Name
at some time during the series, but it is first callsign for now.
160-20M, 100 watt limit, single op. 1 khz QSY rule. Dupes OK after one
intervening QSO or band change.
2. 10-10 Mobile Contest. 0001Z to 2359Z Sat. 10M only. Exchange:
Name + SPC + 10-1- # (if you have one), + County.
3. BARTG Spring RTTY Contest. 0200Z Sat to 0200Z Sun. Time limits.
80-10M RTTY. Exchange: RST + Serian # + UTC (4 digits).
4. Russian DX Contest. Note that this is likely to be one of the
"qualifier" contests for WRTC 2010 near Moscow. 12Z Sat to 12Z Sun.
CW, SSB. 160-10M. Exchange: RS(T) + 2 character OBL abbreviation or
Serial #. Work everyone, even own country. Note unusual rule that
encourages QRP stations to sign /QRP in callsign. I assume that we
should log them that way also.
5. Virginia QSO Party. 18Z Sat - 02Z Mon. CW, Phone, Digital. All
bands except WARC bands. Exchange: Serial # + VA county or independent
city or SPC.
6. 9K (Kuwait) 15 Meter Contest. 12-16Z Saturday. 15 M CW/SSB.
Exchange: RS(T) + Serial #. Work everyone. This duplicates the RDXC
and, except for Russia, the exchange is the same. Hope some 9K stations
will be QRV.
7. QRP ARCI HF Grid Square Contest. 15-18Z Sun. Strange selection of
times to coincide with Sunday church (except for those of us who attend
early morning services). 160-10M CW. Exchange: RST + 4 digit
Maidenhead Grid Square (e.g. EM72) + ARCI membership # or power out.
8. Flying Pigs QRP Club, Run for the Bacon. March monthly contest.
01-03Z Monday (Sunday night local). 160-10M CW, 5W. Exchange: RST +
SPC + FP # or power out.
Hope everyone has a lot of fun in contests this week and a lot of QSOs.
73,
John, K4BAI.
