Coming up in the next week, we have (among others):
1. Pesky Texan Armadillo Chase. 0230-0400Z Thurs (Wed local-tonight).
40 CW QRP. Excahnge: RST + SPC + Power. Try to work all (up to 20)
"Armadillos" in shortest time. Any power may participate, but awards
only for those running 5W or less. These have been a lot of fun in the
past. Either the roster on the website isn't up to date, or they don't
have but 12 signed up this year.
2. Idaho QSO Party. 13Z Sat to 01Z Sun. 12-24Z Sun. CQ/Phone 160-2M
+ 440. Exchange: RS(T) + Idaho County or SPC. Could be a lot of fun
if they turn out Idaho stations, which they usually don't.
3. AGCW QRP Contest. 14-20Z Sat. 80-10M CW. Exchange RST + QSO # +
Class + AGCW # or "/NM." Best bet is 20M around 14060. Classes: up to
one watt: VLP. up to 5W: QRP. Up to 25W: MP. Over 25W = QRO. Give
the QRP guys a point if you can.
4. Oklahoma QSO Party. 14Z Sat to 02Z Sun. 13-19Z Sun. CW/Digital +
Phone. 160-10M. Exchange: RS(T) + SP or OK County. They are turning
out the OK stations this time for a special celebration and many will be
signing one by one special calls. Should be a lot of fun.
5. SOC Marathon. 18-24Z Sat. 160-10M CW. Exchange: RST + SOC # or
power. This is open to all. For some reason, the Second Class Operator
Club members don't seem to support their own contest.
6. North American Sprint, RTTY. 00-04Z Sunday (Saturday night local).
80-20M RTTY. Exchange: Both calls, Serial #, Name, SPC. After three
intervening QSOs, dupes may be worked.
7. Wisconsin QSO Party. 18Z to 01Z Sunday. CW, Phone. All bands
except WARC. Exchange: Wisconsin County or SPC. (Some will send 59 or
599 anyway, but it isn't a part of the required exchange.) This one is
well supported by Wis stations and is a lot of fun.
Hope everyone has a nice week and weekend and a lot of QSOs.
73,
John, K4BAI.
