I sent this to the writelog mailing list yesterday. Maybe useful here also.

Subject: Sending log to LOTW directly from WriteLog

For those using the ARRL Logbook of The World (LOTW) system:

There are at least 3 ways to enter your log data:

1. After logging into the LOTW system, use the web page entry form at
https://p1k.arrl.org/lotwuser/upload?awg_id=&ac_acct=

2. After manually creating the appropriate tq8 file, attach it to an
email addressed to lotw-logs at arrl.org .

3. Using the file export feature from within Writelog and sending it
directly from WL using your default email client.

I have used all 3 of these recently, and can recommend the third as
being far easier than the first two.

To send the file from WL, load the *.wl log file into WL (FILE,
OPEN), then click FILE, EXPORT, TRUSTED QSL FILE, SAVE, then specify
your callsign and location, activate "email the file" and enter your
certificate password. Click OK, then click SEND on your email
application. Then close your email application.

Either of the first two methods require manually creating and
handling the various files and manually uploading or attaching as
appropriate. The third method, using WL directly, does not require
any manual file operations.
