Guys
Lets remember Jeff took the job under duress and had a lot of catching up to
do. I commend Jeff for what he did and hope he will figure in future club
activities.

Jeff, you and John were the top "bait" for drawing hams to the GQP when you
worked mobile. Don't stop going mobile just because a couple of us fussed about
the supposed lack of efort toward getting more home stations on. We need more
home stations but also must have good mobiles. Go ahead with John and go mobile
this year. You two always rack up a heavy score which means you have attracted
folks who can work us at home.

If we have mobiles or home stations racking up big scores it only means more
fish are being drawn to our bait. I am convinced we have enough guys in both
clubs and in South Georgia to have 25 to 40 home stations lined up every five
kHz. With that and two or three good mobile efforts we could have a great GQP.

Good luck to the new guys taking over GQP. Tommy, John and I know a lot of the
guys in South Georgia. If you need help let us know.

Jay...

Hopefully we will have more fixed station activity this year. If you look at
the 2004 results
there were only 10 fixed station entries from GA and in 2003 only 9. This is
surprising considering
there is a plaque for the top club score in GA and the major contest club in
our area - SECC - was
excluded from winning this. There were no entries in GA to claim this plaque in
2004. I would encourage all the SECC and SEDXC members to try to put in some
time this year to support this contest, which both of our clubs are sponsoring.

I have told John that I will be staying home this year instead of going
rovering to do my part to
help with the fixed station activity.

Thanks again for Mike and Tom for stepping forward in keeping the GQP going.
Maybe when I have more time in the future I can become involved again in some
way...

73, Jeff
