Arrived back home last night.... What an adventure this time around. A
serious
fire at the island power plant a week before our departure almost had us
cancelling out.
Lucky for us Rick, NE8Z, who was on the island a week before us found us a
backup generator and saved the day. We owe him a few beers at Dayton ! It
ended
up that we only used the generator during the last hour of the contest.
We took some interesting side trips before the contest - a tour of Radio
Netherland
shortware broadcast station and the old PJ1B QTH. I should have some pictures
posted
sometime this week.
As always a good time was had with my friends - N4GG, N5OT and W9RE...
Also please note since 50% of our operators were SECC members our score will
count towards the SECC club score....

Comments:
Great time had by all here in intermittent-power paradise! Island power went to
rolling blackouts 2 weeks prior to contest - portable generator planning kept us
on the air except for a few minutes lost to Chinese fire-drill generator
change-overs.
160 TX antenna was very noisy and Beverage was not working on Rx.
K2NG's QTH here is a great and comfortable place to compete from. Noah went out
of his way to furnish the generator making it all possible - TNX Noah.
TNX to all of the many who QSY'd for us. Sorry we missed a few who agreed to
meet us on 160/80 near the end - the last 30 minutes had us repairing a linear
and doing a generator change-over - an exciting ending.

Mike, Mark, Hal, Jeff
