Not much time to summarize minor contests for this weekend. There are a
PSK31 contest and a couple of European 160 meter contests and an
European CW contest with hours that aren't too good for the US.
1. LZ DX Contest. This is one that fell the weekend before Phone SS
last year and there was a good bit of activity. I had the highest USA
score mixed mode. W4ATL was top single band 20. It can be a fun
contest. Most contest logging programs can be made to work this contest
probably using the IARU contest module. I used NA that way last year
and only had to refigure the score and make a few editing changes in the
Cabrillo file headers. The webpage gives good examples of how to
prepare the Cabrillo files. Also, the webpage has a list of the LZ
districts. 12Z Sat to 12Z Sun, so it will run for 9 hours before Phone
SS starts. 80 to 10 M CW and SSB. Exchange: RS(T) plus two letter LZ
district or RS(T) plus ITU zone (08 for us here). You can work anyone,
including your own country for points and mults. No band change limit,
but 10 minutes between mode changes is required.

2. ARRL SS Phone. Same rules as for CW two weeks ago. 21Z Sat to 03Z
Sun, maximum 24 hours. 160 - 10 Phone. Exchange: QSO #, Precedence
(A, low power, B high power, Q QRP power, S school, M multi op, U
unlimited including using packet), Call sign, Check (last two numbers of
year first licensed), ARRL Section. For the SE US other than FL, that
is just your state. Fla has three sections, NFL, SFL, and WCF. Work
only US, Canada, and possessions.

Hope everyone has a good time in SS and a lot of high scores.
