Hello all:
Here is an announcement about the Spartan Sprint to be held Monday night
for two hours QRP CW. This weekend will have no contests that we can
work practically. There seems to be some sort of a South African HF
contest, but I am not sure that DX stations are welcome and have never
heard anybody active it in. The lack of contests is because the weekend
splits July/August and most contests are planned for a specific numbered
full weekend in a month. Anyway, why not do the 2 hour contest Monday
night and have some fun? You submit your score on line and do not have
to submit logs. 73, John, K4BAI.
Spartan Sprint Contest Monday -
Flight of the Bumblebees is over, but the fun continues. Hopefully the
bands
will cooperate and Monday will see tons of strong signals.
The August Spartan Sprint will be held on August 2, 2004 (which is our
standard
date--the first Monday of the month). It's two hours of fun as you contact
other QRP CW stations on 80, 40, 20, 15, and/or 10 meters.
The contest starts at 9 pm EDT, 8 pm CDT, 7 pm MDT, and 6 pm PDT and
runs for
two hours. That's 0100-0300 UTC.
The Spartan Sprint exchange is RST - State - Power (e.g. 559 MI 5W).
Note - If you are maritime mobile at sea use 'MM' for your
state-province-country in the exchange.
