Comments:
At 04:00Z, I thru up my hands and said, "never again" ! Never ever will I
subject myself to this type of humiliation. Had planned to be relaxed and
casually make some points for team 4. That all changed when I turned on the
rig about 2 mins before start time. Computer wouldn't key the rig--- things
went down hill from there. Finally got it keying then RF would lock it down.
So it was part HP part LP. But - hey- I've been hamming 43 yrs, surely I can
handle little problems like that. Nope, guess not !!!
I probably set an all time record for "brain F*rts" in a 4 hr period. Don't
think I made over a dozen Qs (all night) without something going wrong.
Every little 'snafu' would put me in a tailspin. Couldn't remember who I was
working or what to send. Should've just used the keyer and pencil & paper.
At least my sanity would be intact.
Well today's a new day---- so I'm going to try this sprint bizzness one more
time. Six months from now my equipment will be ready and turned on before
contest time. I'll be well rested and psyched for the task. Not gonna worry
how many Qs or points I end up with. The goal will be to see if I can get
thru it with out "screwing all you guys rates up" !! Bet ya'll would give
out a plaque for that. (address is ok in the call book) :>)
