Glad to have recovered from flu-like symptoms in time to operate this
weekend.

Operating phone with a scratchy throat is the pits where phone Q's have
the same weight value as CW Qs. I was amazed that every phone operator
was able to understand my weak and sometimes semi-slurry speech.

Operating was further challenged with chest decongestant and cough
suppressant medication in my system. Hearing was affected the most by
swollen glands. I still had to increase the volume level significantly
even while wearing a headset.

Happy New Year to all!

Yaesu FT-817 QRP transceiver. 5 watts into a 5-MHz OCF 28-gauge
insulated wire stealth antenna up 40 feet in trees next to I-75 in
downtown Atlanta industrial area. SGC SG-237 autotuner. Heil Pro-Set
Plus headset. WriteLog 10.44b.
