Very surprised to work so few SECC stations. Think NS4E was the best.
Now for the sad part...40 meter rotatable dipole wouldn't work, so
somehow had to use the 160 L for 40 and 80 and 160...not a bad
antenna. Think the balun on the 40 is the problem since I can read an
open between shield and center with an ohm meter.
Noise was horrible. On 15, had a pipeline into W6 and W0-CO
Started on 10 and believe it or not, 1st 2 stations worked were SD and
ND. Wound up working both States a number of times.
But the worst of all, besides having a cast on my left wrist, was
coming down with a
"mother of all viruses" case of Bronchitus on Tuesday. Fortunately Dr.
phoned in some antibotics, but I spent 3 days in bed, and could hardly
talk.
Now for the good news, yesterday, Dr. "reduced" the cast on my wrist
so I now have all my fingers free. Scheduled to come off next week.
CQ 160 this weekend will be just to give a few guys a Q.
