Thanks. I just spoke to Paul. I'm going to drop it off on Monday after SS
SSB this weekend. He said maybe he could have it done for the following
weekend, but no promises. I guess worst case I could use an external keyer
(I think I have an old AEA model packed away) if he can't get it fixed by
CQWW CW contest time. I remember the QSO at W4AN. I worked you backscatter
with this R5 vertical, but it's all I have right now. I don't have anything
for 40. I guess I could go to HRO to buy a dipole. I've 100' trees that
would support any direction, which would you suggest - NW? I'd hate to go
North and possible miss the western reaches. I have not put in a serious
(1000+) CW effort in quite some time. There was a minute during SS CW I
could feel the excitement of the escalating Q rate! I have not used CT
software, but am now working with the N1MM software which is very easy to
use. Any comments you have on the dipole are greatly appreciated.
