While I agree with N6MU about propagation, I kinda like the mid-summer
excuse to get on the air. But don't put too much weight on my opinion,
since I am an extrememly casual participant in state QSO parties other
than GQP.
There is one other factor to consider -- the summer date will be shortly
after the WRTC 2002 competition. Don't know if this is good or bad, but
it's something to think about.

I can't resist putting my .02 worth in again. I have suggested for =
several years that July sucks for the GQP from the left coast. =
Conditions have been terrible and low band QRN extremely high. In other =
words, it's no fun! I didn't participate last year and probably won't =
this year if it's still in July. Just one opinion from a very active =
