Gordon,

I don't have a 1000MP, but I agree with Bill about filter bandwidths.
500 Hz is what I use 97% of the time. 250 Hz filters are installed, but
I need to keep one hand on the RIT when using them, which is a real
pain-in-the-butt.

SSB?  The stock filters in my IC765 are too wide at about 2.3 kHz;
and the one time I listened to 1.8 kHz filters, I hated them.... guess
that
leaves the "standard" 2.1 kHz.
