I wonder if first we shouldn't find out what contests our members are
interested in supporting? I agree with not trying to be all things to all
contests. The NCCC does well because they put their efforts in to the
SS. That isn't to say they aren't on in other contests, but SS is their
baby. It would be good to get us all on the same page for some
contest(s) which are all trying to win as a group.
I can tell you from a competitive standpoint we stand the best chance in
WPX SSB or CW or the ARRL 10M contest. These contests have proven to be
friendly to the SE.
We won't win SS, CQWW, or ARRL DX contests as a club. But that doesn't
mean I wouldn't be fired up to try if everyone else is onboard. Improving
our standing each year would be fun.
Anyway... my 2 cents & I said I would shut up. Sorry.
