  Greg

  Cell site hardline is 50 ohms. I have a 150-foot chunk of new 7/8" =
Heliax that was a reel-end and=20
  some used 7/8" that came from an upgraded cell site.  (A friend in =
Colorado was a cell site=20
  planner)

  The easiest way to tell them apart is the larger size of the 50-ohm =
inner conductor.  In 50-ohm
  cables,  the inner is roughly the same diameter as the thickness of =
the dielectric between the
  inner and outer conductors.  This is easy to eyeball, since 75-ohm =
cable inner conductors are
  half the diameter of 50-ohm inners.

  I'm not a computer networking guru, but I know Writelog has occasional =
blurps like this when=20
  Windows is off doing other jobs. But I don't recall any reports of =
these being network-related.=20

  Best bet is the relfector for the logging software you are using.  =
Some pretty good minds will
  find an answer for you.

  Hope all is well and everyone is enjoying the rain.  I need the wisdom =
of the reflector on the following 2 question.

  1.  In the Cell phone industry, do they use 50 ohm or 75 ohm hardline? =
 There is a crew adding antennas to a cell phone tower near work and =
they may have some reel ends left over. The guy I talked to did not =
know.

  2.  I use 2 networked computers for logging.  When I hit the + key, =
the computer "hangs up" when sending the T of the TU K4NO message.  It =
sends a longer T character and it's got to be causing some confusion for =
the person on the other end.  I think this happens when it sends the =
info to the other computer in the network. What is the fix? =20
