The WAE DX Contest takes place from 00:00 UTC on Saturday
13th to 23:59 UTC on Sunday 14th September. It is SSB-only
on the 5 contest bands from 10 - 80m, with LP (100w)
and HP sections for SO.
Rules at http://www.darc.de/referate/dx/xedcwr.htm
SD supports SO entries. V14.09 runs on Windows PCs
and is free from www.ei5di.com.
Select the "WAE" template
Europeans work non-Europeans and vice-versa. SD displays
inappropriate callsigns or prefixes in red. If they're
not red, they're OK to work for points.
Your score shown, while logging, reflects the correct
weighting for multipliers on each band.
SD supports QTCs for both sides. To see how they work,
try a WAE test file, log a few QSOs and then enter the
QTC command in the callsign field.
You have to log the Time, Callsign and Serial for each
QTC. The easiest way to do this is to type it all in
one field with no spaces - and Enter when you've
finished.
If you receive a QTC as 0905 9A1AA 015, type it as
09059A1AA15, followed by Enter. This is faster and
simpler than entering the fields separately, but you
can still do it that way if you prefer. At any time,
if you make a mistake, you can use the arrow keys and
Tab to make corrections.
You can log up to 10 QTCs from each DX station - but
they don't have to logged all at once. As you type
callsigns on the logging line, SD shows how many QTCs
you have left to log from (or send to) that station.
Each QSO and each QTC scores 1 point, and it makes
sense to ask for QTCs as they can make a big difference
to your score.
Use SDCHECK Option 1 to create your Cabrillo .LOG file.
If you log/send QTCs, SD generates an additional .QTC
file. Email them, as attached files, to
waessb@dxhf.darc.de.
Please mention SD in your Cabrillo soapbox comments.

Paul EI5DI
