This is the Nano I use because it comes with the header pins
separate. I don't use the headers, instead soldering the
resistor/transistor pairs directly in the pin holes on the Nano PCB.
One could always use perfboard and mount it above/below the nano with
the necessary sockets.

I haven't found the ideal dongle-case, but am currently working at adapting
this one:

Could you or anyone please elaborate on exactly which Nano board they used?
The one I picked up has no space to construct anything other than dangling
things off of the (long) pins provided. I'd like to be sturdier about this
;) Thanks! - jeff wk6i
ps: Writelog did very recently add support for TinyFSK in RTTYrite.

I have been using a TinyFSK for over a year with N1MM. The original
software had a USOS glitch, which Andy resolved in the latest version.
The
Nano and a socket can be bought off eBay for less than $10, and the
interface is easy to make, mechanically sturdy, and needs no computer
serial port. RFI has not been an issue with mine. I have not used it
with
software other than N1MM, but I believe it works with Writelog also.
