Is the FT3000 set up for lower frequency tones? Try 1275 1445 for mark/space
in MMTTY.

Subject: [RTTY] STRANGE SET UP WITH NEW RADIO

About 6 weeks ago my old YAESU MARK-5 FIELD died and I replaced it with a
new YAESU FT-3000. Set up for CW was easy and it works ok. But, I have a
strange set up for RTTY using MMTTY that I don't understand nor what to do
about it, if anything. FT-300 with a Signalink-USB interface. (the Signalink
worked ok with the MARK-5 for the past 8 years). I have the new cable and
jumper module from Signalink for the FT-3000.

Problem: I set up MMTTY with MARK = 2125Hz, Shift = 170 Hz, TAP = 72 Hz,
AV= 70 Hz. Mode = DATA-LSB . Signalink informed me this had to be the radio
mode. With this set up when I open MMTTY there is nothing in the SPECTRUM
Window. Just the 2 vertical lines in one window and fussy stuff in the other
two. The band width has to be 2000 Hz or more to get the Spectrum window to
show something. If I put the curser just to the left of the left vertical
line I can bring the signal in view and center the signal traces it in the
vertical lines. However the MARK is now between 908 to 966 Hz. But now I can
reduce the band width to any width I prefer.

I have been working a lot of calls with this set up and did the JARTS RTTY
contest this past week end with no problems. I don't understand why the MARK
Hz changes or if it is a problem. I never noticed this with the old MARK-5
when I used it.

Comments/advice appreciated.
