I've melted Mosley CL33 and arced Hygain TH3 traps running about 1200 watts
with
a Denton Clipperton L amp (4 x572Bs). Switched to a KT34 and a Steppir and
haven't
hurt them. Also the amp is now an 87A.
High power rtty does stress everything. I've melted so239 when the center pin
wasn't a
good fit plus the usual litany of switches and lighting protectors. You really
don't ever
want to hot switch something.
I only contest low power and don't need much on rtty dxcc so the amp stays off
most of
the time.
