Ray Ortgiesen, WF1B was the creator of the first truly successful
software for RTTY contesting - RTTY by WF1B. It was a DOS program
which worked beautifully and got many of us, including me, into RTTY
contesting. Other RTTY contesting software would have been created
eventually no doubt, but his was the first.

Another tremendous contributor to the growth of RTTY was Makoto Mori,
JE3HHT, the creator of MMTTY. Thanks to the two of them, RTTY has
become the highly popular mode it is today. Some other modes have made
a feeble attempt at contesting, but RTTY remains the 800 pound
gorilla. :-)

Do a Google search for "RTTY by WF1B" and you'll find a ton of stuff.

73, Bill W6WRT
