Depends on your software. Most RTTY-only software, like MMTTY, expects the
rig to be in LSB on all bands. Some sound card-based digital mode software,
like fldigi, expects the rig to be in USB on all bands in all modes
including RTTY. In both kinds of software there is usually a "Reverse"
button that switches the software to work with the other sideband. As long
as you match up the "Reverse" button setting with the sideband and the
software's expectations, no-one else will be able to tell the difference.
If you get the combination wrong, you will not be able to decode other
signals, and other stations will not be able to decode your signal without
using their own "Reverse" buttons to switch polarity temporarily for you.
The radio's dial will display a different frequency in LSB vs. USB. Your
software should have a setting that automatically subtracts or adds the
audio offset from or to the rig's dial frequency in order to calculate the
actual radiated Mark frequency. The radiated Mark frequency is the
frequency you should log and use for cluster spots.

which mode should I be using to transmit RTTY signals? LSB or USB all the
time. Or should I just let the radio decide that.
