OO notices, Winstink ..........
I hope this ARRL / FCC bashing topic moves somewhere else away from the RTTY
reflector. Of course I can always just delete it like I did with the
RM-11708 after a few weeks. It just goes on and on and on and on and on
........

From what I have seen on various forums (or is that fora?), the only
reason
that Advanced ticket holders don't upgrade is because they don't want to
be
in the same class as us guys who can't prove that we passed a 13 wpm code
test some time before April 15, 2000. I mean do they really honestly
think
that someone will look up their callsign and actually be impressed by the
fact that they passed a 13 wpm code test at some time in the distant
past?
I'm impressed with my ability to pass Element 1B. Not so impressed
with my ability to pass Element 1C, however, given that I didn't.
The one thing the ARRL learned about license classes is to never take
away privileges. Given that the Element 4A Advanced test was *harder*
than the Element 4B Extra, there is no reason to just flip the bit and
make them all Extras. Novices are all inactive anyway so making them
Technicians doesn't matter since they'll all expire in a few years.
