If the directors who don't have any experience with, or even knowledge of,
digital modes had recused themselves from the vote, I wonder how many would
have voted. I wish that N2FF were still on the board.
I wonder how many CW operators on the board, assuming there are some,
understood the implications.

Just FYI, I recently sent my Atlantic Division Director, Dennis Bodson, an
email pointing out my concerns over this whole mess. I asked a few specific
questions as well. I was polite.
He blew me off with a one line response directing me to read the FAQ's on
the ARRL web page ( as if I had not already done so...) Apparently, they are
'circling the wagons'.
