I found that Bill has been a respectful moderator. I don't
say that lightly. Bill tolerates opinions on the list that
are at times vastly different from his own. When dealing
with many of us (who at times are very opinionated) he has
been very polite and often quite helpful.
Now, that being said, it shouldn't go to his head.

The RTTY group is exceptionally well-behaved, Charlie. We have over
1100 members and in my seven years as moderator, I have had to put
only one person on moderated status for personal attacks, and he has
since cleaned up his act and is now un-moderated. There are still a
few people on moderated status because some kind of virus took over
their computer and started sending out spam.
