Hello everybody. I am hoping this email will reach as many RTTY DXers as
possible.
I am currently active on 20m RTTY from Igloolik Island NA-174. I brought a
very modest station with me to enjoy some digital mode fun while I'm here.
FT857D and a folded dipole for 20m. No narrow filters for RTTY - yet.
I never realized the effect that would be caused by calling CQ from this QTH.
I expected some interest for sure. Yesterday there was a moderate and
manageable pile up. Today was a different story. Even trying to run "split",
it was a mobbing.
I'm going to try to make as many contacts as possible - and fun. I really
don't want to upset the IOTA and RTTY communities but working a monster pile up
is not something I am equipped to handle.
All who QSL will get a nice custom card, and there are future trips already
planned.
Any suggestions and help from the community would be greatly appreciated on how
best to manage this surprising turn of events.
