Unlike most other bands, 40 meter RTTY assignments vary around the world. For
example, in Japan hams are limited to 7025-7045 for RTTY. If you are working an
international DX contest or just chasing DX,it's best to stay in that segment.

The ARRL recommends a DX calling frequency of 7040 although there is often a
broadcast carrier right on that frequency. Might be best to move up or down a
few hundred Hz.

On the other hand, by tradition US hams work 7080-7090 which is fine for
ragchewing and domestic contests and avoids most QRM from the CW guys.
