Unfortunately, the answer to your question at the bottom is yes....and not the
fast PSK63 either, the slow PSK31.

It's aggravating but true. I try to do as much RTTY as possible early in the
24 hour period because it's so much faster, but later...Sunday...there's just
no one new left to work. We bounce back and forth often between PSK and RTTY
to find fresh meat, but there is very little to find.

It would probably help if we all got together about a month beforehand and
created activity times for each band. Every hour on the hour for RTTY on all
active bands would be wonderful. We did some passing, but that usually only
works with the regular 1D stations. Forget passing on PSK...most dont know
what frequency they are on.

The PSK part of 20m was absolutely packed all weekend. I didn't make
many Field Day contacts, but that appeared to be where the action is.
PSK31 is an utterly unsuitable mode for contesting and it's unfortunate
that RTTY activity seemed to be lower.

PSK contesting needs to be PSK63, in my opinion. PSK31 is just too slow.
