Sorry to hear about that. A local here in my club with a 7600 had exactly
the same thing happen. 13 months past the purchase date. No amp in action.
And the guy does most of his work in CW. Just went to transmit between QSOs
and voila, no PO.

U had been driving an amp, but that's not when it died. It was working
fine when I QRT'd for a minute to get a cup of coffee and when I came
back, on the next TX, nothing. The failure was completely silent - no
pops, bangs or other signs of malfeasance. The output meter just stayed
on zero.
My amp only needs 45 watts for full output so overheating should not
have been an issue. I'll be curious to know what the factory says happened.
