A similar topic came up this morning on the fldigi reflector and the following
is a copy/paste of my comments about rtty-split operation and logging.

Fldigi correctly reports and logs the DX station's transmit frequency that is
displayed as the operating or QSO Freq. This is where you heard the DX station
calling CQ and where you heard your report. There is no need, other than for
personal preference, to log the split. Some operators post the split as a
cluster note like "RTTY UP 2" to give other stations an indication of where the
DX station was listening when worked. In the real world this just moves the
pile up to that spot.
The art and challenge of DXing is to figure out just how far up to place your
transmit signal so the DX station will hear your call.
The bottom line is the QSO Frequency is the correct frequency for logging split
operations.

As a footnote if an fldigi user spots a RTTY station using the logged Operating
or QSO Frequency he will be spotting the correct Mark frequency.
