Hi Mac,
The system configuration error is not a hard drive problem. You should be
able to install your hard drive in another computer and recover all your
files.
An example would be to install it in your new computer as a back up drive
(F:) and have all your information immediately available on your new computer.
If you have concerns about installing a hard drive, I sure your friends at
MIT can help you or do it for you.
