With a very limited time, I had a lot of fun this year. The first few times
I worked this contest I did not S/R QTC's. Last year I decided to try them
and really messed up as I did not do my homework. Three weeks before this
years contest I went to the WAE Rules, N1MM Logger Manual ( a lot of info
there), did a Goggle on QTC's and to the DARC web site ( a must B4 the
contest). It took some time to get the information, but I learned a lot and
it made the contest more fun. There is plenty of good information out there
if you just take the time to look for it. Of the QTC's I sent 6 and received
14. The only mistake I can find is I missed one call on a received QTC. The
QTC exchange sure does help the score and keeps the contest interesting. I
did learn that I did not set up the MACROS the way needed for this contest.
I will correct that for next year. Highlight was having Mike, K4GMH, take
the time during the heat of the battle to send me a short personal note and
wait for my reply. It was much appreciated from an op who made 1592 Q's to
take the time to do that. Thanks Mike. I hope to be in this one again next
year.
