If you are using MMTTY, I would recommend using AFC and let MMTTY sort
them out. MMTTY will tend to latch on to the strongest signal and it's
best to work the strongest one first and get them out of the way. You
don't want to be trying to work the weak ones when there is a strong one
calling you.

I am sure there will be an occasional exception, but that's how I'd do
it most of the time.

I concur with Bill. I never touch my RIT during a contest. When I am running
stations I usually open my filters up (I use a pair of 500's). The MMTTY AFC
has no problem pulling in stations that call off frequency. When I am in S&P
mode, I close my filters down to 250 Hz and zero beat the station I am calling.
I operate using FSK TX mode.

Seldom do I need to send AGN? because the AFC didn't lock on quick enough. If
you want to speed up the AFC capture time, you can LOWER the number in the
AFC/ATC/PLL tab of the "Setup MMTTY" menu selection. The time value defaults to
8 and that is where mine is set.

All of the setup options are described in the MMTTY Help file. In general, the
defaults work very good for me so I don't mess with them.
