I have used WriteLog and Win VNC, not sure if it's the same program. I made a
few contacts with it. It has probably over 3 years
ago. I had the bright idea that I was going to use it to work a new one on
RTTY when I was at work. I left everything on including
the amplifier. The "new one" didn't show up but while I was transmitting,
something happened to the Internet connection at my
house. I had to drive 45 minutes home to find my amplifier keyed up at 500
watts the whole time. The problem was that I wasn't
using a static IP from my ISP and when I lost the Internet connection at home,
a new IP address was issued which I didn't know. So
I couldn't get the connection back.

I stopped using VNC to control my radio remotely.

And now believe the Ameritron AL-80B amplifier is the best amplifier for the
money on RTTY!!!!!!

I could not use the MMTTY plug-in with WriteLog through VNC because the display
wouldn't work through the connection. However,
WriteLog's WinRTTY works fine for tuning (always liked WinRTTY tuning indicator
the best anyway).

In addition, I used the Kenwood remote control software to control my TS-870
and tune the radio so I had radio control disabled
through WriteLog.

I also used VNC to E-mail files off my home computer to my work computer. It's
a neat program.

Yes Ultra vnc as in http://www.uvnc.com

I use it and remote desktop as well, but was wondering if anyone had tried it
with Writelog and RTTY.
