It is with great trepidation that I am asking for recommendations as to the
best way of setting up a station for my first foray into the world of SO2R RTTY
contesting. In doing so, I don't want to touch off another round of
battling over the merits, virtues, pitfalls and, yes, morality of SO2R RTTY
operations. All I want to do is see what SO2R RTTY contesting is all about and
see if it is for me.

I have an ICOM 756 Pro III I'd like to use for running and I'm stuck on which
rig to purchase as the second radio to use for pouncing. Do I get another ICOM
756 Pro III or do I get a Ten Tec Omni VII or a Elecraft K3? Or to complicate
matters further, should I use the ICOM 756 Pro III for pouncing and save up a
bit more, and get an ICOM 7700 or Ten Tec Orion II to run with?

I'd also appreciate your recommendations as to which contesting hardware I
should use to harness the two radios together into an efficient but not too
complicated SO2R team?

Your recommendations, thoughts and comments will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. 73.

Bob
