Hi all,
Out of curiosity, I went through my JARTS logs for the period 2000 to 2007,
and this is what I found:
Year Average Median Oldest
Youngest
2000 49.05 50.0 82
11
2001 49.91 50.5 79
19
2002 51.47 52.0 80
15
2003 51.42 52.0 81
20
2004 52.69 52.0 82
13
2005 53.54 54.0 79
14
2006 53.94 55.0 84
10
2007 54.08 55.0 82
13
Not very encouraging is it? This data was calculated on callsigns only
counted once, so may be more indicative than if I had used all the years
that were logged.
I guess it might imply that if the median age is around 55 now, and the
oldest worked is around 80, then I and many others could look forward to
another 30 or so years of RTTY contesting!
Some other stats:
There were 420 unique callsigns.
63 DXCC entities.
Most common age = 55 (30 instances)
Percentage by country:
15% USA
10% UA3
7.3% UT
6.6% SP
5.2% I
3.8% DL
3.6% UA9
3.1% OH
3.1% VE
Guess we are just getting to be a bunch of boring old F^%%$S!!!
73 all
