May even be simpler than that.

The submission for this LoTW contest is a copy of your LoTW QSL 
report for the contest period.

Since neither the sent nor the received exchange go to LoTW, it would 
seem that it doesn't  matter what exchange you send or receive or log 
or don't log.

You could just  as easily enter by uploading your Makrothen log to LoTW.

Not only a poorly chosen date, a poorly thought out concept for a contest.
